I am my brand!

My name is Desmond Uriel Allen-Rudolph, and DUAR is me. “Destined Under All Restraints” comes from my life. At six, I was diagnosed as legally blind in one eye. I was told the headaches were because of my vision. For many years, I felt like a lab rat, constantly in and out of doctors’ offices and specialists, trying different treatments—glasses, eye patches, eye drops, and contacts. They would just send me home with different medications to help with the headaches until one doctor finally ordered a CT scan. In 2009, not only had I struggled all my life with being blind in one eye, I was diagnosed with several cysts on my brain, which were causing me to blackout and have headaches. It was a little smaller than a golf ball but larger than a quarter. The doctor told me if that cyst had ruptured, it would have for sure taken my life, if not instantly within minutes. After several more tests, the cyst was confirmed in October 2009, and I had the surgery on December 16, 2009. I had to move back in with my parents, couldn’t drive for several months, and of course, having brain surgery of that magnitude left a scar, which made me feel really low on self-esteem, embarrassed, unattractive—unless I had a hat on. Wearing a hat made me feel comfortable, attractive, and safe. With that surgery and starting my life over, everything changed! I learned that I was destined to succeed, no matter what obstacles I faced. So, this line isn’t just hats or shirts; they are worn to protect, provide comfort, and boost self-esteem because no matter what scars we have, no matter what pulls us down or holds us back, or what mountain of problems or issues we face, we can control our destiny under all restraints! Giving up is never an option; we climb and keep going! We are Destined Under All Restraints!
